Spartanburg Community College Celebrates Summer 2026 Health Sciences Graduates at Pinning Ceremonies

SPARTANBURG, SC — Spartanburg Community College (SCC) celebrated the accomplishments of its Summer 2026 Health Sciences graduates during three pinning ceremonies held Thursday, July 23, 2026. The ceremonies honored students completing programs in Workforce Health, Allied Health, and Nursing, recognizing their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to serving others through careers in healthcare.

A total of 209 graduates completed SCC's Health Sciences programs this summer, with 164 graduates participating in the pinning ceremonies. The ceremonies marked an important milestone as graduates completed their academic and clinical training and prepared to enter the healthcare workforce.

The Workforce Health pinning ceremony recognized 108 graduates from the following programs:

Emergency Medical Technician – 37
Phlebotomy – 34
Electrocardiography (EKG) – 6
Certified Nursing Assistant – 31

The Allied Health pinning ceremony honored 68 graduates from:

Surgical Technology – 20
Respiratory Care – 9
Advanced Pharmacy Technician – 12
Medical Assisting – 14
Expanded Duty Dental Assisting – 13

The School of Nursing celebrated 33 graduates from its Practical Nursing program.

Pinning ceremonies are a longstanding tradition in healthcare education, symbolizing graduates' successful completion of their programs and their transition into professional practice. During each ceremony, graduates were recognized by faculty, family members, and friends for their academic achievements, clinical excellence, and commitment to compassionate patient care.

Graduates will begin careers in hospitals, physician practices, emergency medical services, long-term care facilities, dental offices, pharmacies, and other healthcare settings throughout the Upstate and beyond, helping meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.
