Girls on the Run

Location: Spartanburg Community College (Giles Campus)
Each season comes to an end with a celebratory 5K. This closing event gives program participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment program participants always remember! Everyone in our program receives a commemorative medal to celebrate this incredible achievement.
Schedule of Events:
7:00 - 7:30 AM: Coach Check-In
7:30 - 8:00 AM: Girls/Supporters Arrival Time
8:00 - 8:30 AM: Pre-5K festivities (Happy Hair, Bling Your Bib, and more)!
8:20 AM: Opening Remarks
8:30 AM: Warm-Ups
8:40 AM: Teams start to line up
9:00 AM: Start Begins*
*Teams will start one at a time in order as they are set up.
Parking and Road Closures Information
We are looking forward to welcoming you and your Girls on the Run participants to race day! To help ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for everyone, please carefully review the parking and road closure information below, which corresponds with the attached event map.
The safety of all participants on the course is our highest priority. Please note that SCC Police will be strictly enforcing all parking and lot closure times.
Parking Information
All designated parking areas will open at 5:30 AM.
- Blue Parking | Open: 5:30 AM - Closed: 8:15 AM
- Green Parking | Open: 5:30 AM - Closed: 8:30 AM
- Red Parking | Open: 5:30 AM - Closes when lot is full
Road Closures & Access
- The Fairforest entrance will close at 8:45 AM.
- After this time, please use Brisack Road or New Cut Road to access designated parking lots.
- All roads within the race course will be closed from 8:50 AM until 10:15 AM.
- No vehicles parked in the Blue or Green lots will be allowed to exit until roads reopen at approximately 10:15 AM, based on estimated race finish times.
We strongly encourage families to arrive early and plan accordingly. These measures are in place to protect our runners and ensure a safe event for all participants, volunteers, and spectators.
