Colton Wells, Broome High student, has been awarded an apprenticeship at Draxlmaier including a scholarship to SCC.

Colton Wells, a senior at Broome High School and Daniel Morgan Technology Center, has been offered and accepted a Youth Apprenticeship with DRÄXLMAIER.

The company is an international automotive supplier with more than 60 sites worldwide.

Wells is the first high school student in the country to be offered this opportunity. He'll be working at the Spartanburg plant and the company will pay for his higher education opportunity at Spartanburg Community College, as well as any training classes he attends.

Wells will alternate between working and attending school until he completes this apprenticeship.

On Sept.22, Wells participated in an outdoor signing day event at the Daniel Morgan Technology Center to celebrate this achievement. The US Department of Labor had to approve this apprenticeship for it to be registered.

Wells is the seventh student at DMTC since 2018 to be offered an apprenticeship opportunity.
