Spartanburg Community College Surgical Technology Graduates Achieve 100% National Certification Pass Rate
Spartanburg, SC — Spartanburg Community College (SCC) is proud to announce that all 20 graduates of its 2026 Surgical Technology program successfully passed the National Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination, earning a remarkable 100% first-time pass rate.
Certified Surgical Technologists play a critical role in the operating room by preparing surgical environments, maintaining sterile technique, assisting surgeons during procedures, and helping ensure patient safety before, during, and after surgery.
"This achievement is a testament to the determination and excellence demonstrated by our Surgical Technology graduates and the outstanding faculty who prepared them for success," said Dr. Michael Mikota, President of Spartanburg Community College. "A 100% pass rate on the national certification examination reflects the quality of education our students receive and their readiness to make an immediate impact in operating rooms throughout our community and beyond. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishment and look forward to the lives they will touch throughout their careers."
The Class of 2026 now joins the healthcare workforce equipped with the knowledge, technical skills, and nationally recognized credentials needed to provide exceptional patient care and support surgical teams in hospitals and healthcare facilities across the nation.
Spartanburg Community College remains committed to preparing graduates for in-demand careers through high-quality academic programs, hands-on learning experiences, and strong partnerships with healthcare providers throughout the Upstate.
