Spartanburg Community College Celebrates Class of 2026 During Commencement Ceremony at Fifth Third Park

 

SPARTANBURG, SC — Spartanburg Community College celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 during its 62nd Spring Commencement Ceremony held Wednesday evening at Fifth Third Park, home of the Hub City Spartanburgers.

Spartanburg Community College honored over 1,100 graduates during the 2025-2026 academic year, with 569 graduates participating in Wednesday evening’s commencement ceremony. Graduates earned associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates across a wide range of academic and workforce programs. Among the graduating class, 85 students earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, while 383 students graduated with GPAs between 3.5 and 3.99. The evening featured remarks from college leadership, inspiring student speakers, recognition of academic achievement, and a fireworks celebration following the ceremony.

Our inspiring commencement ceremony honors not only academic achievement, but the hardworking men and women who will help shape the future of South Carolina and our nation,” said Dr. Michael Mikota, President of Spartanburg Community College.”

During the ceremony, SCC also recognized several groups of graduates for outstanding achievement and involvement, including Technical/Health Scholars, Phi Theta Kappa members, National Technical Honor Society members, members of the military community, and Early College students who earned college credentials while completing high school.

The ceremony featured student speakers Roxania Arias and Robyn Williams, who shared personal stories of perseverance, resilience, and determination throughout their educational journeys.

The commencement ceremony brought together graduates, families, faculty, staff, and community supporters to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 and recognize the impact SCC graduates will continue to make throughout the region and beyond.
