Spartanburg Community College's Irran Duncan Named to South Carolina State University's Forty Under 40 Class of 2026
Spartanburg, SC — Spartanburg Community College proudly congratulates Irran Duncan, Director of TRIO Programs, on being selected as a member of South Carolina State University's Forty Under 40 Class of 2026. This prestigious honor recognizes outstanding alumni who are making significant contributions in their professions, communities, and beyond.
Guided by the theme "Recognizing Excellence. Celebrating Impact," the SC State Forty Under 40 Alumni Achievement Awards recognize graduates under the age of 40 who exemplify leadership, innovation, service, and a commitment to excellence while representing the values of South Carolina State University.
Irran is a two-time graduate of South Carolina State University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2009 and his Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship in 2012. He began his career at SCC in 2019 as an Enrollment Advisor and was promoted to Director of TRIO in 2020.
In his current role, Irran oversees SCC’s TRIO Student Support Services and Talent Search programs, which help SCC students remain in college, graduate, and transfer to four-year institutions while also preparing middle and high school students in Cherokee County for college or the workforce. He also serves on various committees across the College and as Vice President of South Carolina TRIO. Through his leadership, mentorship, and commitment to expanding access to higher education, he continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families throughout the communities SCC serves.
Irran was selected for his demonstrated professional achievements, leadership, commitment to serving others, and dedication to student success. His recognition places him among an accomplished group of emerging leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, public servants, healthcare professionals, technology innovators, and community advocates who are shaping the future throughout South Carolina and across the nation, while bringing distinction to both Spartanburg Community College and South Carolina State University.
