Hit the road with Spartanburg Community College's Truck Driver Training Program for careers in the truck driving industry to help meet the fast growing needs for qualified professional truck drivers.
With an almost 95% placement rate for its graduates, SCC’s CDL program provides a straight path into the workforce. Students can walk right off campus and onto the workforce floor, full trained and prepared for the job ahead.

Note: A CLP (Commercial Learner's Permit), a valid SC driver's license, and DOT physical are required prior to enrollment in class.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A is a 4-week course for a total of 160 instructional hours and after successful completion of the course, will qualify you to drive a tractor trailer. The training is conducted on either a 10-speed Manual Transmission (previous shifting experience required), or an Automatic Transmission Tractor Trailer, pulling a 53-foot Trailer.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B is a 2-week course for a total of 80 instructional hours and after successful completion of the course, will qualify you to drive a Class B Vehicle.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A is a 10-week course hosted on the weekend only for a total of 160 instructional hours and after successful completion of the course, will qualify you to drive a Class A Vehicle.

Hazardous Materials Theory
This 8-hour Classroom Course and Testing will provide you with the information needed to pass the required ELDT Hazmat knowledge test to obtain your CDL hazmat endorsement.

Backhoe Loader Training
This course presents types and designs of backhoe excavators, safe operating techniques of the backhoe and front bucket tractor, and use of the backhoe for trenching and digging foundations. Setting up the backhoe safely is emphasized.
