Workforce Development:
Heavy Equipment Training
Heavy equipment operators use machinery such as backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, compactors, graders, and cranes to help complete construction projects. They may work for road construction, site preparation, retail, manufacturing or home construction, pipeline companies, municipalities, or various other different contractors. Generally, the duties include operating equipment efficiently, maintaining equipment, preparing sites, installing materials, and following plans, all while ensuring safety.
Heavy equipment operators are in high demand and can have good job security, salary, benefits, and opportunities for growth. Some operators specialize in one type of equipment, while others work with several. Operators who are disciplined, experienced, and team players may eventually move into leadership roles such as foreperson or superintendent.
