Student Life at SCC

  • Student life thrives at SCC! Visit the Student Commons between classes in the Hull Building, or grab a snack in the SCC Library lobby area. The office of Student Life manages campus activities external to the classroom, promotes community service opportunities, supervises the Student Events and Activities Board -- also known as SEA Board - and serves as a liaison between SCC administration and student organizations.
Contact Student Life at (864) 592-4752 or email studentlife@sccsc.edu

There are many ways to be involved at SCC as a student:

    1. Student Organizations & Clubs

Why join a club or organization? Because you learn just as much from experiences outside of a classroom as you do in one! Not only will your resume reflect your commitment and involvement, you'll also make a difference in the lives of others. Learn more about Clubs and Organizations at SCC in your SCC Student Planner & Handbook (download or view online) or email studentlife@sccsc.edu.
    2. Volunteering Opportunities

SCC's Student Life office promotes and encourages student involvement in community services. Walk with us in the March of Dimes March for Babies walk, pack Bags of Love for children in need, collect toiletry items for local family shelters and more. Learn more about specific volunteerism opportunities by emailing studentlife@sccsc.edu.
    3. Cultural & Community Events

There is always something going on in Spartanburg, and SCC can connect students with events and activities in the community. Outdoor activities through the Spartanburg Parks Department, Black History Month, plays, concerts and more are encouraged for student involvement. Be sure to check your MySCC Portal and the SCC website home page for events listings involving SCC and partners.
    4. Student Events & Activities (SEA) Board

Get involved in a leadership role at SCC by joining SEA Board: Student Events and Activities Board. Email studentlife@sccsc.edu to connect with our Student Life coordinator and get involved.
    5. Student Ambassador Program

      • Student Ambassadors are currently enrolled students selected to represent SCC to prospective students and to the community throughout the academic year. The Ambassadors assist the Recruiting Office with recruitments efforts such as campus tours and community events. Student Ambassadors are recognized for their outstanding service and commitment both to the College and to the community.
