  • Student life thrives at SCC! Visit the Student Hub in the Powers Building (C-wing) or enjoy the outdoors on the SCC Campus Green. The office of Student Life manages campus activities external to the classroom, promotes community service opportunities, supervises the Student Events and Activities Board -- also known as SEA Board - and serves as a liaison between SCC administration and student organizations.

    SCC students, faculty and staff are alerted through a college-wide notification system using the information you provide in your account. This includes phone calls, texts (to text-capable mobile phones) and emails. You can manage your contact information or add others to your alert list (such as parents) in your MySCC Portal Self Service account.


    Emergency Response at SCC

    This plan serves as a guide for all SCC personnel in the event of an emergency at or near one of the campuses of SCC, including any situation requiring the closing of any campus or the suspension of classes. While no plan can cover every possible situation or emergency, this guide describes basic actions necessary to protect personnel and property and to enhance the capability of SCC response in coordination with local emergency response agencies. Specifically, this guide outlines emergency management actions and resources for responding to issues including:

    • Accidents
    • Violence (including active shooter)
    • Severe weather (including tornadoes)
    • Fire and other evacuations
    • Psychological crises
    • Power or gas outages

    What is College Town? A not-for-profit consortium of Spartanburg's seven public and private accredited colleges and universities.

    College Town capitalizes on the advantages offered by the large number of diverse colleges in order to create educational, social, service and career development opportunities for students.

    College Town showcases Spartanburg to students as a place to live, work, play and stay.

      Why join a club or organization? Because you learn just as much from experiences outside of a classroom as you do in one! Not only will your resume reflect your commitment and involvement, you'll also make a difference in the lives of others, make new friends, and have a blast!       SCC's Student Life office promotes and encourages student involvement in community services. Walk with us in the March of Dimes March for Babies walk, pack Bags of Love for children in need, collect toiletry items for local family shelters and more.     3. Cultural & Community Events

      There is always something going on in Spartanburg, and SCC can connect students with events and activities in the community. Outdoor activities through the Spartanburg Parks Department, Black History Month, plays, concerts and more are encouraged for student involvement. Be sure to check your MySCC Portal and the SCC website home page for events listings involving SCC and partners.

    5. Student Ambassador Programs

      Student Ambassadors are currently enrolled students selected to represent SCC to prospective students and to the community throughout the academic year. The Ambassadors assist the Recruiting Office with recruitments efforts such as campus tours and community events. Student Ambassadors are recognized for their outstanding service and commitment both to the College and to the community.
