Student Life invites you to get involved at SCC!

  • Student life thrives at SCC! Visit the Student Hub in the Powers Building (C-wing) or enjoy the outdoors on the SCC Campus Green. The office of Student Life manages campus activities external to the classroom, promotes community service opportunities, supervises the Student Events and Activities Board -- also known as SEA Board - and serves as a liaison between SCC administration and student organizations.

    Counseling Available for Students

    SCC cares about everyone's well being during this time of COVID-19 crisis. All of the change and bombarding of information can be very stressful. If you're a student at SCC and would like to speak with a counselor, contact SCC Counseling Services at counseling@sccsc.edu and at bussertn@sccsc.edu or by phone at (864) 592-4943.

    What is Student Life?

    1. Student Organizations and Clubs

      Why join a club or organization? Because you learn just as much from experiences outside of a classroom as you do in one! Not only will your resume reflect your commitment and involvement, you'll also make a difference in the lives of others, make new friends, and have a blast!     2. Volunteering Opportunities

      SCC's Student Life office promotes and encourages student involvement in community services. Walk with us in the March of Dimes March for Babies walk, pack Bags of Love for children in need, collect toiletry items for local family shelters and more. Learn more about specific volunteerism opportunities by emailing studentlife@sccsc.edu.

    3. Cultural and Community Events

      There is always something going on in Spartanburg, and SCC can connect students with events and activities in the community. Outdoor activities through the Spartanburg Parks Department, Black History Month, plays, concerts and more are encouraged for student involvement. Be sure to check your MySCC Portal and the SCC website home page for events listings involving SCC and partners.

    4.  Student Events and Activities (SEA) Board

      Get involved in a leadership role at SCC by joining SEA Board: Student Events and Activities Board. Email studentlife@sccsc.edu to connect with our Student Life coordinator and get involved or download SEA Board application PDF.

    5. Student Ambassador Program

      Student Ambassadors are currently enrolled students selected to represent SCC to prospective students and to the community throughout the academic year. The Ambassadors assist the Recruiting Office with recruitments efforts such as campus tours and community events. Student Ambassadors are recognized for their outstanding service and commitment both to the College and to the community.

      What are the benefits of becoming a Student Ambassador?

        Create lasting friendships and associations
      • Network with students, alumni, college employees and the community

      • If you are interested in becoming a Student Ambassador, please complete the Student

      Ambassador Form and submit two letters of recommendation to Ashlee Mahoney, Recruiting Coordinator by emailing mahoneya@sccsc.edu

    What is College Town? A not-for-profit consortium of Spartanburg's seven public and private accredited colleges and universities.

    College Town capitalizes on the advantages offered by the large number of diverse colleges in order to create educational, social, service and career development opportunities for students.
