What is SMART Jobs?

    SMART Jobs is a scholarship program funded by Spartanburg County to provide intensive short-term training for dislocated workers leading to full-time employment opportunities.
    The program is also sponsored by the SC Employment Security Commission and supported by the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, Spartanburg County Economic Futures Group, and the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce.

    What are the Qualifications to Participate in the SMART Jobs Program?
    • Be a resident of Spartanburg County
    • Be dislocated from your most recent job (laid off due to company downsizing or moving)
    • Have at least a high school diploma (or equivalent)
    • Have an established full-time work history
    • Be seeking full-time employment
