BMW Scholars

The BMW Scholars application is now open!

The application is open until all slots are filled, so complete your application as soon as you can to be considered. 

Carefully read all of the information below BEFORE you submit your online application to BMW. Applicants that don't meet the qualifications listed below and submit all required documents with their application will not be considered.

Accepted BMW Scholars work 20 hours per week at the BMW Manufacturing plant in Greer, SC and attend full time classes at SCC. Students are paid $14-16 hourly and provided $1500 in tuition assistance. BMW Scholars are required to complete additional training at BMW and maintain a GPA of 2.8+. After completion of the BMW Scholars Program and Associate Degree, Scholars are considered for full time employment at BMW Plant Spartanburg.

BMW Scholar Qualifications:

• Be at least 18 years old 
• Full time student status and commitment to attend school year round is required.
• Students must be enrolled in a degree related to one of the BMW Scholar program tracks: mechatronics, automotive, management, or machine tool technology.
• Students must have at least one year of their SCC program left in Fall 2022 to be considered. 
• Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA required.
• Commitment to working up to 20 hours per week at BMW during the course of the program.    

How to Apply for BMW Scholars:

1. Apply and be accepted to Spartanburg Community College to start in Fall 2022 in an approved area of study. To start the admissions process, go to www.sccsc.edu/admissions.
2. Gather your required application documents:
   1. Resume 
   2. Unofficial transcript from most recent education (showing 2.8+ GPA)
   3. SCC class schedule or SCC Provisional Acceptance Letter

1. 1. BMW Scholar Online Application 
   2. Pre-Employment Testing at BMW
   3. Interview at BMW
   4. If selected, offer made (Contingent on passing the next three items)
   5. Strength test/physical at BMW
   6. Background check at BMW
   7. Drug screen at BMW
   8. Cleared to start
