SCC's Horticulture programs provide students with the knowledge and skills required for a successful career in the horticulture industry. Thanks to a widely respected campus arboretum with many gardens and greenhouse production facilities on our campus, SCC students gain hands-on experience with plant production, landscaping, nursery operations, greenhouse management and more. Students also attend conferences and field trips for diverse horticulture experiences and many complete internships with various companies such as Walt Disney World, The Greenery and the Biltmore House.

This, together with four greenhouses, a nursery production area, several unique niche gardens and an ornamental garden, provides students with hands-on learning experiences that lead to numerous educational and career opportunities in the progressive southeast. The SCC Arboretum's beauty is highlighted in the annual SCC Arboretum calendar that is sold to raise funds for the Jimmy Painter Horticulture Scholarship fund.
