Medical Laboratory Technology Application Process
Achieve admission to the college by meeting SCC s requirement s for associate degree programs.

All sessions are held in HSB 305 (Health Sciences Building, Medical Laboratory Technology Classroom). You only need to attend one.

MLT Program Prerequisites
In addition to program specific application procedures, students must complete the following prerequisite courses (with a grade of C or better).
- One unit of high school biology or equivalent
- One unit of high school chemistry or equivalent
- COL-101 - College Orientation (or COL-103)
- ENG-101 - English Composition I
- MAT-110 - College Algebra
- SPC-205 - Public Speaking
Note: beginning with the August 2018 admission class, the Medical Laboratory Technology program requirements are changing. The program will no longer require CPT 101 - Introduction to Computers. In addition, the math requirement will become MAT 110 - College Algebra only; MAT 155 - Contemporary Mathematics will no longer be permitted. Students who have taken MAT 155 prior to August 2017 should consult with the program director.
MLT Program Application
The medical laboratory technology (MLT) program admits students through a selection application process annually. Download 2020 application packet here (PDF).
Submit application packets on: Monday Aug. 3, 2020 at 8:00AM - Tuesday Aug. 4, 2020 at 4:00PM, Ignore the due date on the download packet.
NOTE: You must be a currently enrolled student at SCC to apply for this program! Apply to Spartanburg Community College if you are not already a current student. Students need to be accepted to Spartanburg Community College before applying for the program. All transcripts should be sent directly to the Spartanburg Community College Admissions department if you are transferring classes.
