Do you like a challenge? How about the fast paced profession of a prehospital care provider? The first step is to become an EMT. This career is fun and rewarding all in the same package. What more could you ask for? Whether it is rushing to a wreck scene, managing a heart attack victim, or simply helping someone up out of the floor this career keeps you moving. So if you are motivated and want to learn how to handle emergencies becoming an EMT is the right choice for you. REGISTRATIONS MUST BE DONE IN PERSON at Corporate & Community Education in the Tracy Gaines Building, Room G17. The following documentation must be presented at the time of registration: a high school diploma or GED and a CollegeScreen report. The CollegeScreen report can be completed online for a charge of $75. See additional information below to access the report. NOTE: when completing the application for the CollegeScreen report, you must select Corporate & Community Education as the department. A 2-step PPD (TB) vaccination documentation will be required before the ride-along portion of this program. SCC/CCE requires students to take the ASSET Assessment Test which will be scheduled prior to the class starting. For state certification, candidates must successfully complete the National Registry Exam. This exam requires self disclosure of any felony convictions which may or may not prevent a candidate from becoming a National Registered EMT. This exam fee is $70 and the skills practical exam fee is $100. The National Registry Telephone Number is (614) 888-4484.
