The first day of the summer semester is less than a week away and persons interested in taking classes at the Union County Advanced Technology Center are being urged to register by Thursday.

Spartanburg Community College hosted an on-site registration event at the center on Monday with staff and faculty on hand to assist students through the admissions and registration process for any of the SCC campuses the students plan to attend.

The event gave students the opportunity to register for the summer semester which begins Monday, May 19.

“Several students took advantage of on-site registration at UCATC yesterday making arrangements for their summer semester at SCC,” UCATC Administrative Specialist Cathy M. Freeman said Tuesday. “Students were able to register for summer and fall classes, take care of tuition payments, complete Financial Aid applications, and complete the Compass Assessment.”

Freeman said the center continues to work with students to prepare for the summer semester and she urged students who need assistance with registration and related matters to contact the center.

In addition to registering for the summer semester, the event was also an opportunity for students to register for the fall semester.

“Fall semester preparation and registration is also underway at UCATC,” Freeman said. “Register now as classes are filling up soon. Student services are available at UCATC, including registration, payment options, Compass Assessment, and Financial Aid assistance. The staff at UCATC is happy to assist our students.”

Persons interested in registering for classes at the UCATC and who need more information should call 864-466-1060 or visit the center which is located at 1401 Furman Fendley Highway (US 176) near Union.
