The Spartanburg Community College Foundation has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to create a new front-end web developer program.
Nannette Bongiovi, the college’s director of corporate training and career development, said in a statement the grant will allow SCC to create a curriculum that provides web development training to students hoping to find employment in similar fields.
Because the state lacks skilled and trained web developers, the program will provide economic boosts across the region, Bongiovi stated.
“Our new web development program will allow participants to add high-demand skills and specializations to their resume within a much shorter time frame than typical semester-based credit courses or degree programs,” she said in a statement.
