This project for Spartanburg Community College at SCC Cherokee County Campus provides site analysis and conceptual design services for a new Center for Advanced Maintenance and Industry Technology (CAMIT) Building. The facility will house academic classrooms and labs for mechatronics, allied technical, electrical, mechanical, automotive, HVAC, welding, machine tool, and nuclear power curricula at the college’s Cherokee Campus. The building is anticipated to be 25,000-30,000 SF, and will be designed to LEED® Silver or Two Green Globe sustainability standards. Working with the campus master plan, LS3P is providing site analysis for several potential building locations. The project will require bioretention areas, sustainable landscaping, a campus greenway connecting disparate sections of campus, and a reconfiguration of parking areas.
