AMPPED: Automotive Manufacturing Partnership Propelling Education and Development

Automotive Manufacturing Partnership Propelling Education & Development is an innovative program from SCC and the BMW Supplier Network to develop the talent for the best supply chain. 

WHO needs AMPPED? 

AMPPED is designed for those seeking entry level employment within the manufacturing industry. You 
will be hired by the supplier network facility and work as a co-op student during the series, attending classes and working in the facility.

WHERE is AMPPED taught? 

Classes are taught at Spartanburg Community College, while the hands-on work will be done at the respective hiring facilities.  Classes are taught Monday and Tuesday, while the student works in the facility Wednesday through Friday.

The entire BMW Supplier Network benefits from quality-focused and consistent training and education.  Also, provides opportunity for high school students and recent graduates looking for internship credit and apprenticeship-based opportunities. 

AMPPED Training Plan:

AMPPED is a 6-week train-while-you-work program. SCC’s Corporate & Community Education provides the classroom and certification training. The program consists of 96 hours and includes the following courses:

  • OSHA 10 GENERAL INDUSTRY
  • MSSC SAFETY
  • LEAN SIX SIGMA YELLOWBELT
  • PRODUCTION AND PROCESSES
  • MAINTENANCE AWARENESS
  • MSSC QUALITY PRACTICES & MEASUREMENT
  • FORKLIFT SAFETY CERTIFICATION
  • EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS
  • INDUSTRIAL WORKPLACE SAFETY
