Anyone interested in taking classes at the Spartanburg Community College (SCC) Downtown Campus can register now for fall term beginning August 19. Located in the historic Evans Building, renamed the Evans Academic Center, at 220 East Kennedy Street, this campus is conveniently located for downtown residents and workers to begin or continue a college education.
“From short-term job training to University Transfer programs, students can begin almost any program SCC offers at the Downtown Campus,” said Judy Sieg, executive director of the new campus. “Enrolled students will enjoy taking classes in a learning environment where beautifully restored, 1920’s architecture meets modern, state-of-the-art technology.”
In addition to certificate and associate degree programs in healthcare services, modern manufacturing, business and computers, the Downtown Campus also offers the same student support services and resources provided at all SCC campuses, including financial aid assistance, academic advising, tutoring, career counseling and disability services, as well as computer labs, study rooms and convenient parking.
Individuals interested in enrolling who may need financial aid are encouraged to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. This can be done prior to applying to SCC. The priority deadline to be considered for all financial aid funds available for fall 2013 is May 1; however, applications will be accepted after this date for remaining funds. The deadline to apply for scholarships is July 1, 2013. Visit www.sccsc.edu/financialaid for more details.
