This 28-hour program is designed for the Certified Nursing Assistant that would like to broaden their skills, advance their level of marketability, earn higher wages and recognize more employment opportunities as a Medication Aide or Medication Technician in long term care facilities and home health. You must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) before registering for this program. This program is designed for the CNA to learn proper mediation dispensing in long term care and home health. Topics include routes of administration, aseptic techniques, measurements, drug classifications, signs and symptoms of medication interaction, state and legal regulations, and proper documentation including EMR, electronic medical records. Students must register in-person at Corporate & Community Education in the Tracy Gaines Building, Room G17 and present documentation of your Certified Nursing Assistant training.
