Mechatronics: SCC, along with 4 other technical colleges in SC offers a technical degree program developed with a grant from AdvanceSC: Mechatronics. The mechatronics program provides training for certificates and an associate degree. Mechatronics students train on state-of-the art equipment from suppliers including Kuka, Festo and Siemens. The collaboration among the five colleges ensures students are trained on the same standardized curriculum and tested to meet industry standards. Professional development for individuals already working in related fields will also be available through continuing education courses at each of the five colleges.
BMW Scholars ProgramThe BMW Scholars Program allows eligible students to attend class full-time at local community colleges while working part-time at BMW in order to further their education requirements, gain the necessary hands on experience, and to become viable candidates for full-time positions at BMW. Degrees currently being considered are Production Associate, Machine Tool, Mechatronics, Maintenance, Robotics (Automated Manufacturing Technology), and Automotive.
