Emergency Medical Technician
and Paramedic Programs
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMTs) and
Paramedics are healthcare professionals employed in areas such as on emergency ambulances, in private non-emergent transport services, hospitals, clinics and other allied health care settings. SCC offers three academic programs in the Emergency Medical Technology department (EMT Certificate, Paramedic Certificate and General Technology Associate of Applied Science-Paramedic degree). All programs combine classroom learning, extensive practical hands-on labs, and field internship on an ambulance. AEMT and Paramedic students also attend clinicals in hospital settings. EMT certification is also available through
SCC Corporate & Community Education.
