School of Allied Health Information Sessions
(Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Expanded Duty Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, Paramedic, Pharmacy Technician, Respiratory Care Technician, Radiologic Technology, and Surgical Technology)
Attendance at one Allied Health Information Session is required prior to applying to any of the programs listed above. Prospective students are welcome to bring a parent, spouse, friend, or anyone interested in learning more about our Allied Health programs.
Beginning July 17, 2026, through December 4, 2026, joint Allied Health Information Sessions will be held every other Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

All sessions will be held in Room 102 of the Health Sciences Building, located at 850 Brisack Road, Spartanburg, SC, on Spartanburg Community College's Giles Campus.
SCC's Pharmacy Technician program will prepare you for a career in retail pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities and more.
Become a competent technician to assist a pharmacist within their scope of practice and perform tasks including basic to extensive medication preparation, dosage calculations, compounding, IV admixture patient information maintenance, inventory and quality control. Students in a pharmacy lab and in local pharmacies build proficiency in pharmacy processes and procedures such as procuring, manipulating, and preparing drugs for dispensing.
Accreditation and Certification
The Pharmacy Technician is nationally accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and is a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Recognized Education/Training Program. Graduates are eligible to apply for South Carolina state certification after completing 1,000 work hours and passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam given by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
