Spartanburg Community College is pleased to provide applicants applying for full-time, adjunct, part-time and temporary positions with an online application. Please read the following information before applying. If you are applying for a FACULTY position, you must submit copies of appropriate transcripts with your application. All completed information must be submitted on or before the posted deadline. Original transcripts must be provided upon hire. Transcript information may be mailed, emailed, faxed or delivered to our Office of Human Resources.

Application Process

Applications that are submitted for vacant permanent positions will be reviewed and screened to ensure the applicant meets the minimum requirements for the position. Once the applications have been reviewed and approved by the Human Resources Department, they will be forwarded to the supervisor who will select candidates to be interviewed. 

Applications that are submitted for vacant adjunct, part-time and temporary positions will be emailed directly to the hiring supervisor. The hiring supervisor will contact the persons with whom they would like to interview and will select the candidates for hire. Adjunct, part-time and temporary positions are non-benefited and are hired on an as needed basis per student enrollment. Back to top of page

Interview Process

Applicants for permanent positions, who are selected for an interview, will be contacted by the Human Resources Office to schedule the interview. 

Applicants for adjunct, part-time or temporary positions will be contacted by the hiring manager for interview.

If the position you are applying for requires a typing test and you are selected for an interview, you will be required to take the test at the Office of Human Resources. The test MUST be taken and PASSED before advancing to the first interview.

All applicants may be subject to employment history verification. Therefore, it is essential that applicants provide complete information regarding past employment.

Hiring Process

Job offers for permanent positions are made by the Human Resources Director, after receiving approval from the College President.

Job offers for adjunct, part-time and temporary positions are offered by the hiring manager. 

New Hires MUST show evidence of U.S. Citizenship or legal residence in the U.S. in order to be eligible for employment. Authority for collecting this information is in Title 8, U.S. Code, Section 1324A. Spartanburg Community College participates in the E-Verify System and requires Criminal Background Investigations to be performed on all newly hired full-time employees. Back to top of page

Annual Security Report

The SCC annual security report, including statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by SCC; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to or accessible from the campus) may be obtained by contacting the SCC Office of Public Safety at (864)592-4911 or online at www.sccsc.edu/security.

The report also includes institutional policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.  The daily crime log can be viewed in the SCC Director of Public Safety office.
