SCC Welcomes New Employees



Spartanburg Community College (SCC) welcomes eight new employees.

Karen Frady has been hired as a student accounts supervisor for the College’s business office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from the University of South Carolina Upstate and has served as an adjunct accounting instructor for the SCC Business Division.

Libby Henry has been hired as an administrative specialist for the Corporate and Community Education Division. A graduate of Gaffney High School, she formerly served as a service manager at Spectal USA.

Frederick Howard has been hired as the assistant director/counselor for the Success Network. He holds a master’s degree in human resources management and development from Webster University and previously served as a career specialist for the Greenville County School District.

David Jamison has been hired as a counselor for SCC’s disability services office. He earned a Master of Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Carolina’s School of Medicine and previously served as a case manager for the Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital.

Edward Melcher has been hired as postal specialist for the College. He was formerly employed at the Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation and is a graduate of Steubenville High School in Ohio.

Anne Ruehmer has been hired as an administrative assistant for the College’s human resources department. She previously served as an executive support specialist for the Continuum of Care.

Leslie VanHoy has been hired as the College’s director of grants. She holds a bachelor’s degree in home economics education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and previously served as the grants writer for Guildford Technical College in Jamestown, N.C.

James Williams, Jr. has been hired as a trades specialist for the College. He holds an associate’s degree in industrial electronics from SCC.
