Nonprofit Academy Graduates Second Class at
SCC's Cherokee County Campus 


A graduation ceremony for the second class of Spartanburg Community College's Nonprofit Academy was recently held at the College's Cherokee County Campus in Gaffney.
The Nonprofit Academy, offered through SCC's Corporate and Community Education Division, covered topics vital to the success of nonprofit organizations including basic nonprofit structure, the board of directors, organizational planning and development, media relations, fundraising and volunteer recruitment and management.

The Cherokee County Community Foundation, an affiliate of Foundation For The Carolinas, provided grants for fifty percent of the course tuition fees for Cherokee County nonprofits with staff attending the program.

SCC's Corporate and Community Education Division is currently enrolling for the next Nonprofit Academy scheduled to begin June 9, 2008, at the Cherokee County Campus.
